Video Production and Shooting
the process of making your website come alive.

Do you want to take your website to the next level? Video will not only get you there, it will get you there in style. At allySites, we believe in the power of video. In order to keep up with technology and reach today’s busy, tech savvy consumers, video is no longer an option it is a necessity. To help prepare you for the ultimate video shoot, we want to share our process of how a video is created from start to finish. That way you will know what to expect and will get the best results from your video shoot with the allySites video production team.

Whether it is a product, a service, a story or an introduction, our goal with every video is to make your business shine and come to life. Through brainstorming efforts and the exploration of ideas we will work together to make that happen. Following is a step-by-step process of our approach to video production:

1. Your Ideas. This is where it all begins. We want to hear your ideas and get a feel for what kind of video you want. Is it for a specific product? Is it a story about your company? Whatever it is, we want to nail down a few details about what you are wanting to achieve.
  • What is your vision for the video?
  • How do you want the video to look?
  • How do you want the audience to feel and react?
  • Do you have examples of videos that you like?

2. Our ideas. After a few days of thinking and mulling over the information we have gleaned during our initial meeting, we will present you with a few of our ideas and possible scenarios for your video. This helps us determine if we are headed in the right direction. It is essential that we have a good understanding of what you want before we do any writing or shooting. Once we are confident that we are all on the same page, it’s time to get to work!

3. Writing the Script. The next step is to write a script for the video. The script includes the characters, the words, the scenes and actions that will take place throughout the video. It is basically a step-by-step outline of the video shoot. Once you have approved the script, we set up a date and time to start filming the project.

4. Choosing a location. After the script has been approved, we will scout out possible locations for the shoot. When choosing a location we will also want to take into account anything that might interfere with the shoot such as: the time of day, traffic or special events. For example, if the video is being filmed at your place of business, lunch hour or closing time may not be the best time to capture your employees in action. When choosing a location it is also important to keep in mind the overall vision and purpose of the video. At this point we will also research voices for voice overs, if the video calls for it.

5. The video shoot. This is the day we have been preparing for—we love this day! It is both exciting and rewarding to see it all come together. Depending on the vision for the video, this footage might consist of an interview with the owner or a satisfied customer. If it is an interview, we will come up with questions for the subject and make sure they feel comfortable in front of the cameras. We will also get a B-Roll, which is footage that is filmed of the product or the surrounding area. This footage is used to overlay the video from the interview. We can also hire actors, actresses or other stand-ins, if necessary. We know that your time is valuable which makes it all the more important that we have done our homework. We want to get you the results you want in a timely manner. The shooting time can vary anywhere from two hours to two days, depending on the length of the video and according to how many different ideas are being incorporated.

The gear—it really does matter. This is what sets us apart from people who are just wanting to shoot videos on their iphones. There is no substitute for professional video gear. Our cameras provide stunning, high-resolution full-frame images. Here is a partial list of the equipment we will bring.
  • Canon 5D Mark III Camera
  • 2-Canon 5D Mark II Cameras
  • Lighting Kit
  • Flex Lighting Kit
  • Multiple stabilizers for flawless footage
  • A drone for aerial shots

6. Editing. After all the filming is done and the cameras have been put away, we will begin the editing process. This will take several hours as we go through all the footage and make sure we have the best of the best. The video is edited using the industry-leading video editing application, Premier Pro CC Adobe. For audio editing we use Adobe Audition. The finished product will flow nicely with audio that enhances the message and brings it all together seamlessly. Once the video is edited and polished we will export it into a high resolution format that can be easily uploaded. At this stage, slight revisions can still be made if necessary.

7. Delivery. Once everyone is happy with the final product, it is yours to use as you like. We can add it to your website and your social media sites as well. Video is easily sharable content and a professional video created by allySites is a video you will be proud to share, over and over again.

At allySites, we want to make sure you have a great experience throughout the entire production of your video and that you end up with a video that you love.
